Toronto, ON (PRWEB) November 11, 2008 -- canadianimmigrant.ca has added a new tool to its site, EDge Interactive's SchoolFinder, that makes finding the right Canadian educational program or school quick and easy to do. SchoolFinder's unique and powerful database of over 1,700 colleges and universities across Canada allows users to research and learn about post-secondary programs, school profiles, application requirements and available scholarships.

Each year, Canada welcomes more than 250,000 new immigrants to the country; most of whom quickly realize that getting a job in their field of expertise is harder than they anticipated. In fact, 67 per cent of immigrants polled for StatsCan's Longitudinal Survey of Immigrants to Canada said they planned to further their education or training, and most immigrants believe that further education was important to their success in Canada.

"It is very challenging for newcomers to wade through all the educational options in Canada. With the launch of SchoolFinder on canadianimmigrant.ca, we're providing a much needed service to Canadian immigrants, to help them sift through the barrage of educational options in Canada," says Nick Noorani, founder and publisher of Canadian Immigrant.

"Canada is among the top destinations for immigrants considering a change in location. Many immigrants believe that education is key to raising their standard of living and being successful in their new environment," says Chris Wilkins, CEO and President of EDge Interactive. "We're excited to provide this service to canadianimmigrant.ca and look forward to helping the thousands of new Canadians and international students using this service."

The SchoolFinder tool can be found in the education section on canadianimmigrant.ca along with other useful resources and a wide variety of post-secondary education stories and issues. And, until November 25, 2008, readers can enter canadianimmigrant.ca's Back-to-School Contest for their chance to win $500 cash towards a Canadian school of their choice. A total of three (3) bursaries will be awarded via random draw.
