David Haye v Monte Barrett
David "The Hayemaker" Haye has finally, confirmed his opponent for the 15th of November at The O2 in London.
(PRWEB) November 8, 2008 -- It will be the World Boxing Organisation's (WBO) sixth ranked fighter, Monte "Two Gunz" Barrett and you will be able to catch all ten rounds (or less) of the scheduled fight on Setanta Sports.
David Haye has been tipped as the future of the heavyweight division and the time has come for him to prove his worth against Barrett, who in his own right is known to have fought most of the recent World Heavyweight contenders and champions including Hasim Rahman, Nicolay Valuev and Wladimir Klitschko.
On describing his opponent, Haye said that: "Monte Barrett is a guy that everyone knows, he's fought on all the major US TV networks and his last win over Tye Fields was shown live over here in the UK on Setanta Sports. People know what they're getting with Barrett. He's been fighting world-class heavyweights and hanging with them for years. When I beat Monte better than anybody has before, people will start to realise I'm serious about becoming world heavyweight champion."
So Haye definitely has his work cut out for him, but he has a very impressive 21-1 record, and he will be facing Barrett in his own backyard in Greenwich.
So yet more great live boxing only on Setanta on November 15, when a hometown hero takes on a formidable opponent from across the Atlantic; just a week after the super fight between Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones live from New York!
