WinScribe's Latest Digital Dictation Software Adds Extended Functionality and Compatibility to Healthcare Workflow Management

This latest release includes extended workflow functionality as well as an enhanced Mobility suite and an increased compatibility range across importers, Citrix and Terminal Services.

WinScribe v3.8 takes workflow management to another level, with automatic job routing, e.g. dictations that have not been completed during normal working hours can be sent to another chosen dept/location for typing. With WinScribe v3.8, the author now also benefits from alerts that advise when the author's preferred typist or secretary is unavailable due to absence. This functionality allows the author to route the jobs more efficiently for an even better document turnaround time and business performance.

"Consider this scenario - a physician submits a dictation to the day shift typist pool for transcription. At 5:00 p.m., the day shift ceases production for evening and the job has yet to be transcribed. A workflow rule can be established to automatically route that unfinished job to the nightshift typist group for transcription or to an external transcription organization that may be in place to handle overflow work. In the event that the work remains incomplete at the start of the next business day, the job is automatically routed back to the dayshift for attention that morning," explains Vian.

WinScribe's BlackBerry and Windows Mobile applications have already proven to be very popular among organisations globally. Recent enhancements include insert/over-write functionality and encryption at the device and SD card level. This recent version also now supports a wider range of thin clients and importers, including the latest range of portable devices such as the Olympus DS-5000 and DS-5000ID portable recording.
