Edinburgh, UK (PRWEB) November 8, 2008 -- The Society's new magazine, Unfiltered has been dropping thro the letter boxes of Society members this week. For many years the Society has produced a newsletter for its members but the Society has taken the opportunity to celebrate its 25th Anniversary by publishing the first issue of a new full-colour magazine. After all Society members are at the forefront of single malt whisky appreciation so therefore deserve nothing less than a magazine which will go where other whisky publications don't dare to tread.

Unfiltered is the Society's exclusive members' magazine whose focus is to expand knowledge, challenge preconceptions and give its readers a unique insight into the curious world of the Society and the world of single cask, single malt whisky . Guaranteed to entertain and educate in equally generous measure. It is THE must-read for those serious about single malt whisky.

With heavyweight columnists and writers (and photographers) whose remit is to find the curious angles, the first issue of Unfiltered magazine will re-awaken the passions of real malt whisky enthusiasts across the globe.

The new-look November 2008 edition of Unfiltered introduces regular columns from internationally renowned whisky writer Jim Murray and broadcaster Tom Morton.

First Minister Alex Salmond is put on the spot and gives a 'word of advice' about whisky to all politicians around the world. Talking of around the world, Unfiltered also features a debate amongst industry experts on 'new world whiskies' These are just a few of the topics to grace the pages of this beautifully presented magazine.

These articles and a wealth of whisky information is available from the whisky articles section of the Society website.

About The Scotch Malt Whisky Society

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society started 25 years ago when a group of discerning friends shared the price of a single cask of fine malt whisky. The aroma of the cask was wonderful and it tasted even better. It was the first of many.

Today the Society continues to bottle only single casks from a range of 125 malt whisky distilleries. Only the very best single cask, single malt whisky is selected, having been approved by the Society's Tasting Panel.

Members worldwide enjoy the many pleasures and benefits of membership, with three superb Members' Rooms, two in Edinburgh and one in London.

The Society remains true to its origins, retaining its personal and companionable atmosphere in its publications, UK-wide events and premises.
