Employee Monitoring Software: Just What the Economy Ordered

Spector 360 customers go on the record with impressive productivity gains. SpectorSoft's 2008 Annual Corporate Customer Survey revealed more than 70 percent of its Spector 360 employee monitoring software customers benefitted from increased productivity.

Vero Beach, FL (PRWEB) November 12, 2008 -- SpectorSoft Corporation (www.Spector360.com), the worldwide leader in Internet Monitoring and Surveillance Software, announced its 2008 Annual Corporate Customer Survey revealed more than 70 percent of its Spector 360 employee monitoring software customers benefitted from increased productivity. The survey uncovered conservative savings estimates of from $15,000 for a northeastern United States SMB to $200,000 or more for an Enterprise business located in Canada.

"As businesses struggle with a deep recession, organizations will need to be diligent about increasing productivity and lowering costs to survive," said SpectorSoft President C. Douglas Fowler. "For years, SpectorSoft's employee monitoring customers have reported often immediate and dramatic productivity increases. Our recent Customer Survey confirms what we've been hearing on a case-by-case basis for quite some time: in addition to a host of other benefits, Spector 360 pays for itself many times over just by increasing productivity. The typical 100 percent return on investment is less than 60 days."

Increasing productivity is important to businesses in any economy, but even more so in current tough economic times. According to a 2008 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report: "The cyclical effects of the economic downturn in 2001 had a dramatic impact on productivity. After slowing and, in some sectors, declining during the recession that occurred in 2001, productivity growth rebounded, resulting in robust increases over the period from 2000 through 2005."

Taking advantage of Spector 360's unmatched ability to quickly detect employee PC and Internet activity abuse - and review the details of the abuse via easy-to-read Quick View charts and graphs - 72% of respondents reported the employee monitoring software helped increase their organization's overall productivity. More than a third estimated the productivity increase to be greater than 10 percent, approximately 10 percent estimated the boost in productivity to be in excess of 25 percent, and several noted an increase of more than 50 percent.

Spector 360 records employees' web sites visited, emails sent and received, chats and instant messages, keystrokes typed, files transferred, documents printed, and applications run.

In addition, through a first of its kind surveillance-like camera recording tool, Spector 360 shows in exact visual detail what an employee does every step of the way. Further, Spector 360 takes the recorded Internet and computer activities, feeds that information into a database, and provides more than 50 easy-to-read reports.

Real Customers. Real Successes. Real Savings.

Spector 360 has a distinguished track record of increasing productivity in small, medium, and enterprise-size businesses, government offices, and educational institutions.

Spector 360 customer Success Stories of impressive increased productivity include:

At IMV Projects of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, IT Manager Ross Benov conservatively estimated the company will recoup nearly $200K in lost productivity.

Benov said that most of the company's 650 employees make from $30 to $40 an hour. Using Benov's highly conservative estimate of 10 hours of work recouped per employee per year - and factoring in the lower end of the stated compensation range - the yearly cost savings estimate equates to $195,000. At $40 an hour, the cost savings estimate increases to $260,000. Staying at the $40 an hour rate -- but increasing the recoup of lost productivity to a still-conservative estimate of 40 hours a year per employee -- the estimated cost savings changes to more than $1 million a year.

Edward DeAngelis, President of HighTec HVAC -- an SMB located in Southampton, PA outside of Philadelphia -- said: "If every business owner put Spector 360 out there, they'd save a lot … more than they realize. You can't comprehend the abuses you will find. I would calculate Spector 360 impact this way: 10 people at a productivity savings of 1 hour a week, at $30 an hour … that's $300 a week times 50 weeks, or $15,000. And I think the savings are actually more like 5 hours a week."
