Obama for Change Offices Donate Thousands in Resources to Schools through iLoveSchools.com
President-elect Barack Obama's Campaign for Change offices donated tens of thousands of dollars in supplies, equipment and materials to local area public schools. iLoveSchools.com, a national non-profit that matches donors of new and used supplies with schools, facilitated the donation effort on behalf of K-12 public schools throughout the United States.
San Diego (PRWEB) November 9, 2008 -- This past week, president-elect Barack Obama's campaign donated supplies, equipment and materials to America's teachers via the iLoveSchools.com non-profit website. The donation is valued in the tens of thousands of dollars.
In a two-day nationwide action, the two organizations partnered to donate surplus equipment from nearly 200 campaign offices throughout the country to local classrooms. Teachers and Principals across America were overjoyed at the generous donation which will benefit thousands of K-12 children in public schools.
According to I Love Schools, Inc. founder Jerry Hall, America's teachers personally spend an average of $500 each year on classroom supplies. Teachers and schools are underfunded and overwhelmed with inadequate resources to care for their students. Today, president-elect Obama confirmed his commitment to America's schools by demonstrating how individuals and corporations can step up to support schools across America and in their own communities.
