Grandview, MO (PRWEB) November 13, 2008
Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon has given up one of his favorite firesuits from the 2008 racing season for an online auction benefiting The Jeff Gordon Foundation. At press time, the EA Sports NASCAR 09™ firesuit had a high bid in excess of $2,000, with less than a week left before the auction closes.
The online auction is being hosted by GoMotorBids.com, the official online auction house of The Jeff Gordon Foundation and Jeff Gordon, Inc. The firesuit was worn by Gordon in the "Prelude to the Dream" celebrity late-model dirt race held at Eldora Speedway in June of 2008.
Pat Rainey, president of the auction website, expects the bids to climb rapidly in the final days. "Last year, Jeff auctioned off the helmet he wore in this race, and it sold for $20,000", said Rainey. "His fans love seeing him return to his dirt-racing roots, and the fact that he does it so rarely makes pieces like this firesuit that much more valuable."
All of The Jeff Gordon Foundation online auctions have a starting bid of $1. With no minimum reserve price, the highest bidder will win. The firesuit will include a special Certificate of Authenticity, jointly crafted by Jeff Gordon, Inc. and GoMotorBids.com which has been designed to thwart counterfeiters.
