In addition, they will discuss "who is doing what," with product launches, technology, and marketing programs, and they will provide Lyra's view on which companies are making the grade.

Office and Enterprise Printing
The U.S. and global economies continue to struggle, and the analysts' presentations for this segment of the Symposium will discuss the economy's impact on some of the broad trends in the office. The trends that will be discussed include the shift toward color, multifunctionality, and A4-size devices, as well as how the economy has affected small to midsize business printing purchases and purchasing habits. The analysts will also deliver forecasts and analysis regarding enterprise printing and copying, including a discussion on the shifting share of MFP installations and the transition of printing in color, with real-world office printing data. An in-depth look at the how the toner cartridge lifecycle has evolved, including insight on toner cartridge purchasers, and environmental initiatives and recycling efforts that are underway, as well as information on the impact of this evolution on the empties stream and aftermarket companies will be provided.

Managed Print Services
Steve Reynolds, senior analyst at Lyra, and Edward Crowley, CEO and founding partner of the Photizo Group, will join together to examine the role of managed print services (MPS) in the digital imaging industry and discuss why MPS is resonating with customers more than ever before and whether the MPS trend has staying power potential.

Wide-Format Printing
Wide-format printing is a market in transition in the digital imaging industry. David Rocheleau, vice president of Lyra's consulting group, will talk about the graduation of wide-format printing from low-volume niche printing to high-volume production printing, how the wide-format market is expanding as technology delivers, and what the key technology drivers are. This section of the agenda will be highlighted with a presentation from EFI Rastek.

Digital Imaging and the Environment
Promoting environmental friendliness is a top priority for today's imaging vendors as they try to capture consumer mind share and purchasing dollars. In his presentation, "Green Is the Theme for Imaging Vendors," Lyra's President and Founder, Charles LeCompte, will briefly compare and contrast the industry's performance regarding environmental sustainability issues, including recycling of machines and cartridges, machine energy consumption, and the carbon footprint being left behind. This environmental overview will be followed by a lively panel discussion of this weighty topic.

Global and Financial Spotlights
Unparalleled presentations describe business drivers, events, and trends in rapidly changing global markets. Presentations will specifically discuss China (The Chinese Market Heats Up: Key Hardware and Supplies Trends) and Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, and Russia (Eastern Europe and Beyond: Emerging from Behind the Curtain). A Wall Street Watch panel, featuring financial analysts from the industry's top firms, will also debate the digital imaging industry's business performance.

Consumer Imaging and Digital Photography
This segment of the Symposium agenda focuses on how the consumer imaging and digital photography market segments have continued to evolve and adjust to the challenges and opportunities that have arisen over the last year. In particular, the counterfeiting problem in the imaging supplies industry; the challenges facing the desktop ink jet market, including the creative and collaborative solutions being implemented; and the opportunities in ink jet market segments (photo printing, office printing, emerging markets, retail photo printing, and commercial printing) will be discussed. Lyra also will present a comprehensive look at the evolution of the digital photography market, including demographics, locations and technologies. The presentation will cover the printing habits of young adults, the shift from home to online printing, the transition from wet to dry labs in retail, and the impact of camera phones, video capture, and HDTV.
