And the Winner is… LASIK Washington DC Surgeons Announce Winner of Destroy Your Glasses Online Video Contest

A young woman from Baltimore submitted the winning video in a contest sponsored by a Washington DC and Maryland-area laser vision correction center. Jennifer Boozel will be awarded free LASIK surgery by some of the most respected LASIK surgeons in the nation.

26-year-old Jennifer Boozel of Baltimore is the winner of the Destroy Your Glasses Contest, sponsored by the Eye Doctors of Washington in the DC and Maryland area. Jennifer’s video was picked out of 15 submitted entries. The winning submission can be viewed at edow.com.

The Destroy Your Glasses contest invited individuals to come up with the most creative way of obliterating their glasses and capturing it on video. The prize? A free laser vision correction procedure at Eye Doctors of Washington, a Washington DC LASIK center. What’s more, everybody who entered a video in the contest received a $1000 discount on LASIK, and our Eye Doctors of Washington donated a pair of eyeglasses for each submission.

Jennifer has already been determined to qualify for LASIK, and expects to undergo the procedure early next year. Upon hearing about the contest on the radio and visiting Eye Doctors of Washington’s Maryland and Washington, DC LASIK center’s website, Jennifer decided it was time to get creative after wearing glasses for 16 years. Jennifer says, “I’ve always wanted LASIK, and now when I wake up in the morning I’ll be able to see.” Jennifer has a severe form of near-sightedness, and laser vision correction can greatly improve her vision and way of life.

And as for her video, it really has to be seen to be believed. Jennifer had some help putting it together thanks to her roommate, and her mom launched a campaign to get viewers’ votes – yes, she even printed flyers and cards and handed them out to unsuspecting citizens.

Eye Doctors of Washington was founded by a group of professors at the Center for Sight at Georgetown University. Their goal is to offer patients a comfortable, academically oriented setting in which they will receive state-of-the-art vision care by some of the nation’s top ophthalmologists. For Washington DC LASIK patients, Eye Doctors of Washington offers the best and most advanced LASIK surgery; however, this state-of-the-art facility offers a number of other vision care treatments as well, which allows patients to get a balanced view of the risks and benefits of LASIK and provides them with alternatives such as implantable intraocular lenses (IOLs) and other options.

For more than 40 years, the Eye Doctors of Washington has been giving Washington DC-area vision correction patients the most advanced care while treating individuals as guests, not just patients. Our LASIK Washington DC surgeons, Thomas E. Clinch, MD, Paul C. Kang, MD, and Susan Majlessi, MD have performed more than 20,000 LASIK procedures between them.

The Eye Doctors of Washington congratulates Jennifer Boozel for her glorious win, as well as all of those who contributed to the Destroy Your Glasses contest.

Eye Doctors of Washington has two facilities to serve the areas of Washington DC and Maryland. In Washington, they are located at 1016 16th Street NW, Lower Level 100, Washington, DC, 20036 – (202) 659-2050.
