Mountain Gear brings the Banff Film Festival to Spokane for the 18th year

Spokane, Washington (PRWEB) November 16, 2008 -- Mountain Gear, a leader in the outdoor gear and clothing industry, is proud to bring the Banff Film Festival to Spokane this month for the 18th consecutive year. The Banff Film Festival will be held at Spokane's historic Bing Crosby Theater (aka The Bing) on November 21, 22 & 23.

Showtimes are as follows:

Friday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 23 at 6:00 p.m.

Each evening features a unique selection of films highlighting mountain culture -- everything from environmental documentaries and cultural programs to heart-stopping action in the water, on the slopes, and through the air. Past years have featured films on first ascent rock climbs, first descent ski routes, mountain and trials unicycling, extreme paragliding, and whitewater kayaking. This year promises to be no different, with the selection rounded out by an increase in films with an environmental bend.

The Lands Council will host a fundraising bake sale with home-baked goodies and canned drinks available before the shows and during intermissions.

There will also be a small selection of gift items available for sale, such as the 2009 Stone Nudes calendar, Fair Trade copper tea pots and platters from Nepal, Mountain Gear's exclusive Liquid Ascents pint glasses, prayer flags, Jennifer Lowe-Anker's memoir "Forget Me Not" and other products.
