Families Are Using the Web To Plan Family Get-Together's and Reunions For the Holidays

Qlubb, a free social collaboration Website, introduces a template to help families get online and organized just in time for the holidays.

Burlingame, CA (PRWEB) November 18, 2008 -- As Internet penetration continues to rise and as families are more geographically dispersed, families are increasingly turning to Web social collaboration tools to help them interact with each other and to plan activities. Qlubb, provides a free service that helps any group of people, including families be able to share, communicate and collaborate. Qlubb has released a family template so that family members can get their own Website in just minutes.

Janna Walsh, a grade school teacher from Texas has a large extended family extending from her great grandmother. "Our family is mostly concentrated in Texas, however we have many close and extended relatives located throughout the country. We have a yearly reunion that we plan every year and we are using Qlubb to help everybody stay in touch. Without it, it would be hard for some of our extended family to know all that's going on with the family."

"Setting up and using Qlubb was easy which is important because in every family there's varying levels of technical expertise. Within just a few days we had people exchanging messages with each other and sharing photos. Some of the technically savvy folks have been uploading avatars already," said Walsh.

With families leading more hectic lives and with families spread out across states and countries, get-togethers during Thanksgiving, the winter holidays and for reunions in general become more important. Planning these events using Qlubb becomes a lot easier. Families can publish on own private Website their upcoming events and include RSVP's, online sign up sheets, and reminders to make the planning process efficient and more organized.

Janna notes, "With Qlubb's help, we expect to get more attendance this year because we're starting our planning earlier and doing it online. Our reunion this year has special meaning because my wonderful grandfather recently passed away. We created an electronic tribute to him that included photos and music, which we distributed through the Qlubb site because it was too large to send via email. We're glad to be able to share our most important thoughts with even our most remote family members."

Jason Crowhurst, also of Texas, found out about Qlubb from his wife, Suzette, who was part of a Qlubb helping to organize their daughter's classroom parents. When Suzette realized the benefits, she suggested setting up a Qlubb site to help with the planning for his family's multi-day Thanksgiving reunion this year. Within minutes she set up a functioning Qlubb Website for the Crowhursts and began inviting family members to join.

The Crowhursts could then collaboratively set up the reunion scheduling and have other family members contribute. Jason said, "We set up all of the important events, like movie night and the guy's only brunch so that everyone can be on the same page. If we didn't use Qlubb, we'd probably be doing our planning when we all got there and as proven in years past, that can be confusing. With Qlubb, we can get all of the planning out of the way so that we can spend more time having fun with the family."

Once the Thanksgiving reunion is over they plan to use Qlubb to keep in touch and to plan other family events and share pictures of other events. Recognizing how Qlubb can help almost any group of people get online, Jason has created a Qlubb for his daughter's soccer team.

"Families are the most original of groups and yet don't have free, easy-to-use Web tools to get online and organized," said Sophia Chiang, CEO of Qlubb, Inc. "With Qlubb, families can create a fully functioning website and group email list in less than a minute. Families can use Qlubb to communicate more efficiently, share important happenings with other family members and plan those all important events together."
