InkyDime.com Ensures that Survival is Possible and Affordable
Disasters don't necessarily have to involve families and individuals scrambling around for first aid kits and towards the local grocers for canned food and water. InkyDime.com has several survival kits that would come in handy for those who want to be prepared - indoors or outdoors. The website, which touts the mantra "Outdoor Survival and Indoor Comforts," is also expanding to include furnishings, as well as new safety kits.
Martinsville, IN (PRWEB) November 19, 2008 -- With the humdrum of everyday life moving at various speeds, it's easy to forget the necessities for safety and survival. Tom and Jan Lawson want people to be prepared without having to pay an arm and a leg for their own safety.
In the summer of 2006, the Lawsons launched www.InkyDime.com, a website that began as a webstore that reflected their hobbies. Over the last two years, the site has taken its own identity and now the Lawsons are shifting the focus towards survival kits for the outdoors, as well as indoors.
"We are putting an emphasis on the items that are needed in emergencies," said Tom. "Our site is evolving and becoming more focused."
"We say, 'Outdoor Survival and Indoor Comforts,'" added Jan. "With that in mind, we are looking for lake and lodge furnishings, in addition to the safety kits we have, which we feel are imperative for families and individuals to have."
While the Lawsons continue to add more and grow their business, they have also started a practical information blog, www.OutdoorSurvivalBlog.com. "We will have tips on surviving, whether it's mosquitoes in the backyard or getting lost on a mountain," said. Tom.
"Our topics will be newsworthy, as well as related to the themes of safety and comfort that is represented on our site," said Jan.
Most important, however, is that people know how to endure within the early stages of a disaster. "We would like to see people become more self-sufficient, especially in the first 72 hours of an emergency," said Tom. "Anytime people have to leave their homes, they are involved in outdoor survival, even if it's temporary."
