Lesbians and Love: It's All About the Personality, Says Pink Sofa

Lesbians desire partners with personality and character whereas looks is the loser in the importance stakes according to a recent global poll.

Adelaide, South Australia (PRWEB) November 19, 2008 -- A survey of more than 4000 members released by lesbian dating site Pink Sofa - http://www.pinksofa.com has revealed that physical attraction accounts for less than a quarter of lesbians' key requirements of a potential partner.

Alternatively more than a third of the respondents chose personality as the number one factor, with a further third rating non-physical traits such as self-confidence, humour, and intelligence as the most important.

The vast majority of our members are looking for deep fulfilling relationships just as many heterosexual women are
Of the 22 per cent of lesbians who chose physical attributes as the most imperative factor for a potential partner, eyes made up for 17 per cent and body 5 percent.

Pink Sofa CEO and founder Liz James said the results came as no surprise and demonstrated that lesbian relationships were not purely based on sexual, physical desires as often presented in the press.

"The vast majority of our members are looking for deep fulfilling relationships just as many heterosexual women are", she said.

Pink Sofa has conducted further polls given a recent survey of 4000 lesbians across the globe revealing only a third of respondents were in a reciprocal loving relationship.

In addition to the physical versus personality debate Pink Sofa surveyed members on what they thought were important behavioural attributes and best first date options.

More than two thirds of respondents stated that good hygiene was a determining factor followed by non-smoking for 21 per cent.

According to the poll almost half of lesbians like to be taken to a restaurant as opposed to a pub and meeting at each other's homes was not a popular option at all.

Of the poll determining who was in a two-way loving relationship, surprisingly 60 per cent believed they were not while around 12 per cent weren't sure.
