Sagamore Systems, the industry leading provider of zero-touch solutions that enable the remote management and monitoring of last mile of the copper loop, today announced technology industry veteran Rick Pontin has joined its board of directors.

Pontin brings more than 25 years of technology and telecommunications experience to the Sagamore Systems board of directors. He will work with the company's executive management team to ensure the success of Sagamore Systems' recently introduced Automated Cross Connect (AXC) 800 product solution for telecommunications service providers.

In addition to serving on the Sagamore Systems board of directors, Pontin is executive chairman of Tangoe, a leading enterprise software company that provides telecommunications expense management solutions to the Global 5000.

Prior to Tangoe, Pontin served as president and COO of Broadwing Communications, were he led the company through a period of significant expansion, growing revenues by 60 percent, to more than $1.2 billion in a two year period. He also was a technology innovator at Broadwing, launching the industry's first national fiber optic based all optical network that won industry awards. Prior to Broadwing, Pontin was also president and COO of Cincinnati Bell and was instrumental in the launch of DSL and integrated service bundles.
Earlier in his career, Pontin served in several executive positions at AT&T, MCI and Nextel, including vice president of engineering, vice president of international business development and vice president of national account sales. He also served as director of MCI's engineering and advanced technology labs during the company's period of explosive growth.
Pontin received his Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
