Digitaria has already begun construction on the new site, which will feature fully integrated and interactive applications, social networking tools, and more multimedia content. The new platform will allow for the implementation of a new content management system that will expedite information to the team's growing fan base.

As part of the development of the new site, the Sounders FC will form a fan advisory board to help in the development of the redesigned site. The new site is scheduled to launch in February 2009.

Van Spyk said the new Sounders FC Web site promises to be an extremely user-centric experience. Content, such as breaking news and post-game wrap-ups, will be updated in real-time, providing fans a reliable and accurate filter of information, direct from the source. Users will be able to interact with other fans and the team through community-based features such as a fan registry, profiles, events, blogs, forums and posting comments on their favorite stories. Fans will also be able to upload photos and podcasts, as well as purchase tickets.
