Retailer Thriving Despite Economy With Margaret Furlong Angels Just In Time For Christmas
Accents Unlimited scoops the competition with the recent addition of Margaret Furlong to its list of venders. People are buying more than milk and eggs here in Midlothian, Virginia, thanks to the cherished collection of porcelain angel ornaments that look like seashells. Margaret Furlong is back after a 7 year hiatus in the collectibles market.
Midlothian, Virginia (PRWEB) November 23, 2008 -- Margaret Furlong porcelain angels and hearts came to the gift market in 1985 and continued until 2001 when the company shut down. In 2006 she resurfaced on the internet but she did not offer her ornaments or pins on a wholesale basis to the gift industry. This 2008 release is the wholesale launch to put Margaret Furlong ornaments back in the stores beginning with Accents Unlimited in Midlothian, Virginia.
Kathy Rivera, owner of Accents Unlimited , is excited to be the only shop outside of Oregon to have the ornaments and pins in stock. She says she carried the Furlong ornaments for years and had heard rumors that Margaret was coming back into the market. She even looked for her at the Atlanta Gift Market to no avail. Then she researched and finally contacted Margaret herself who informed her that yes, she was launching the wholesale line but that she was not quite ready. Mrs. Rivera persisted over the next few months and as a result, Accents Unlimited is the only shop outside of oregon to carry the line of Margaret Furlong angel ornaments and pins for this year. " I have had customers come to a dead stop in front of the Margaret Furlong Cabinet display, after a moment of explaining how and why we have them, they scoop up 3 or 4 of the angels for themselves , with a promise to be back for gifts."
This years release includes a 4" angel "Thy Kingdom Come", a 3" angel "Good News" and an 11/2" angel "Love in Flight". Each angel is stamped in the back with the year of its design and includes a stand as well as a Scripture Verse that inspired the design which is part of the draw to these beautiful ornaments, according to Mrs. Rivera. All the new designs as well as the re-release of the older designs are now available at Accents Unlimited.
