Glass Rooms Withstand Wild Fires

Sunrooms that had been added to homes in the midst of the Southern California wildfires, withstood the intense heat of the fires. The sunroom additions are made out of tempered safety glass, which is stronger than regular window glass to reduce the fire hazard.

Fullerton, CA (PRWEB) November 23, 2008 -- The wildfires that have ravaged Southern California are no match for the year-round glass room additions manufactured by Four Seasons Sunrooms and sold, installed and serviced by Ambiance Additions of Fullerton, CA.

Ambiance Additions, a local Four Seasons Sunrooms franchise serving Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties, recently had a project approved that complies with the required sections of the stringent section 7a of the 2007 California Building Code required due to this project's location within the wildland/urban interface areas.

The Wildfires that occurred in Southern California on November 15th and 16th highlights the need for compliance with these requirements which are all the more important for homeowners located within these Fire hazard severity zones and wildland/urban interface areas.

Ambiance Additions in Fullerton, CA prides itself on determining cost effective and practical solutions to these types of patio design requirements which have allowed us to install more than ¼ million sq. ft. of dual insulated tempered glass in the last 19 years. That is equivalent to more than 500,000 individual insulated dual tempered glass panels utilized in living environments for families throughout the southland. Utilizing Class A roofing material and B.M.E.C.-approved insulating panels are some of the additional steps that can be taken to meet the requirements of a wildland/urban interface area. Other requirements of section 7a of 2007 C.B.C. can also be met with site specific solutions.

Ambiance credits the stringent design criteria utilized in all Four Seasons Sunrooms with this remarkable success. Four Seasons' glass sunroom additions, conservatories and patio rooms are engineered to meet and surpass the strictest building codes and utilize the company's exclusive ConservaGlass Plus high-performance dual tempered glazing.

In addition to its energy-saving features, ConservaGlass Plus is manufactured with tempered safety glass which is at least four times stronger than regular window glass to ensure occupants' safety and security and reduces the fire hazard. Additional strength and durability features include a stainless steel spacer between the lites of glass as well as a dual seal system that protects the insulated glass unit from premature seal failure. Four Seasons Sunrooms exclusive ConservaGlass Plus is so strong and durable that the manufacturer covers it with a Transferable Lifetime Warranty.
