Meta Will Demonstrate New IntelliDocs Product at Mid-year ASHP in Orlando

Meta, a supplier of comprehensive medication safety information systems for the healthcare industry, announced today that it will demonstrate its new IntelliDocs product in booth number 2102 at the upcoming 43rd American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Mid-year Clinical Meeting in Orlando, Florida, December 7-11.

Floral Park, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2008 -- Meta, a supplier of comprehensive medication safety information systems for the healthcare industry, announced today that it will demonstrate its new IntelliDocs product in booth number 2102 at the upcoming 43rd American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Mid-year Clinical Meeting in Orlando, Florida, December 7-11.

The MetaCare IntelliDocs tool helps pharmacists replace paper collection of patient data and care information with an easy-to-use, client-customizable, intelligent data collection system that eliminates repetitive data entry and becomes part of the permanent electronic patient medical record. This highly-utilitarian product has huge potential for hospital pharmacies, where tedious paper data collection and collation is time consuming and often causes inaccuracies and illegible documents that compromise patient care.

"Despite extensive use of computers in pharmacy today, there are still dozens of paper forms that pharmacy departments maintain, such as narcotic inventory, quality management, and restricted antibiotic order approvals," explained Kathleen Morgan, Senior Product Manager for Meta. "IntelliDocs helps pharmacists improve productivity, easily creating data collection screens for the dozens of paper forms they must deal with. These forms are time consuming to complete and collate, are often filled out incorrectly or incompletely and are fraught with legibility problems. The system automatically collects data that is already available on other forms or electronic systems in the hospital. IntelliDocs replaces paper collection of patient data with user-defined, intelligent data collection that can become part of the permanent patient medical record or other documentation systems."

Meta also will be demonstrating its complete suite of medication safety information systems that help pharmacists manage all aspects of departmental objectives. These systems allow the enterprise to strongly support patient medication safety initiatives by means of a comprehensive set of powerful, yet flexible, clinical modules, including full database integration with Meta's web-based point-of-care medication administration system, MetaCare eMAR. MetaCare eMAR helps eliminate errors via five rights checking utilizing bar code technology. Meta recently received international attention by achieving near perfect bar code compliance with what may be the highest percentage of fully scanned medication doses in the United States.
