General Tommy Franks to kick-off Distinguished Lecture Series at Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School, Tampa. The event will be on Wednesday December 3, 2008 from 10:00 - 1:30 p.m. Franks is a retired general and former commander in chief of U.S. Central Command in Tampa and the author of "American Soldier." BDCHS is a high performing Hillsborough County Public Charter High School, with a focus on Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment programs that help college bound students better prepare for post-secondary education experiences.

The event will be on Wednesday December 3, 2008 from 10:00 - 1:30 p.m. and will kick-off the Distinguished Lecture Series organized by BDCHS supporters. Franks is a retired general and former commander in chief of U.S. Central Command in Tampa and the author of "American Soldier."

This fundraising event includes a luncheon, U. S. Military Color Guard, Corporate Sponsor Recognition, Special Sponsorship Reception with General Franks and student-lead school tours. Members of the media will have the opportunity to speak with Gen Franks at approximately 11:00, immediately following his speech.

Brooks-DeBartolo opened in August 2007 as the only charter high school in Hillsborough County that focuses on students seeking to accelerate credit earning at the secondary level.
