Modern Survey President Selected to Attend Governor-Led Trade Mission to Israel

Modern Survey's President Don MacPherson to represent state of Minnesota on a trade mission to Israel organized by Governor Tim Pawlenty and the Minnesota Trade Office.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 26, 2008 -- The Minnesota Trade Office has announced plans for a State of Minnesota Business Development Mission to Israel led by Governor Tim Pawlenty to take place December 11-17, 2008. The delegation, officially announced this past week, will consist of approximately 40 business and governmental leaders from the state of Minnesota, including Modern Survey President Don MacPherson.

Mission objectives include acquiring market information and business contacts, increasing Minnesota exports to Israel, facilitating high-tech exchanges and collaboration, and developing strategic relationships with key organizations that support U.S.-Israeli trade and investment.

I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about the Israeli market, and to help promote the economic relationship between Minnesota and Israel, as well as the surrounding region
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about the Israeli market, and to help promote the economic relationship between Minnesota and Israel, as well as the surrounding region," said MacPherson. "This will be an outstanding opportunity to engage business leaders in Israel and share with them what Modern Survey's technologies and services have to offer."

Israel is Minnesota's 22nd largest trade partner, and according to Minnesota Trade Office Executive Director Tony Lorusso, the state's manufactured exports to Israel have increased 179% since 2004.

At a Capitol press conference, Governor Pawlenty noted, "Both Minnesota and Israel have high-tech economies, so there are synergies and opportunities to build partnerships and increase trade. Israel is the largest U.S. market in the Middle East. They imported $121 million in manufactured goods from Minnesota in 2007."

Included on the delegation's itinerary are visits to Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv, and stops at numerous technology companies and educational institutions.
