Les Clefs d'Or USA Funds Concierge Scholarship Program at The International School of Hospitality

Les Clefs d'Or, the only national association of professional hotel concierges, funds a scholarship program at The International School of Hospitality for the school's Art of Concierge certificate program.

Las Vegas (PRWEB) November 28, 2008 -- Sensitive to the impact that the downward economy is having on education, the only national association of professional hotel concierges, Les Clef d'Or, has teamed with The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) to offer the Les Clef d'Or Scholarship for the school's Art of Concierge certificate program. In response to the generosity of Les Clef d'Or, TISOH will match the scholarship funds, thereby creating three scholarship opportunities for students - two for classroom study at TISOH, and one for online study. The value of these scholarships is about $5,000.

"We are very excited to have such a high profile and respected organization on board with us," commented Tim Lam, Director at The International School of Hospitality. "The concierge program at TISOH is intensely practical and enjoys the support and participation of the top Las Vegas Strip properties. These scholarships will enable prospective students to enroll regardless of their ability to pay."

The next semester for The Art of Concierge at TISOH begins January 27, 2009. Students interested in being considered for a scholarship should go to www.tisoh.com and download the scholarship application. Candidates will be reviewed based on career goals of becoming or being a concierge, and must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED. No prior experience in concierge is required.

The Art of Concierge course is one of the core curriculum courses offered by The International School of Hospitality. More than 30 TISOH Art of Concierge alums with no prior concierge experience have gone on to work at Las Vegas resorts.

The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) was founded in 2005 by professors from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The mission of the school is to offer practical, short term hospitality training certificate programs developed by academicians and taught by industry professionals. Along with class instruction, most courses include site visits and working internships. The school curriculum includes conference management and event planning, hospitality leadership and supervision, wedding planning, the art of concierge, the art of food and beverage, and hotel operations. Students may elect to study on site or enroll in TISOH's online courses.
