The attacks in Mumbai are a clear sign that terrorists whether firmly or loosely affiliated with Al Qaeda are not ready to communicate their message in a diplomatic or civilized manner. Mumbai attacks also showed the world that the weapon does not have to be a "dirty bomb or an IED - improvised explosive device - a machine gun being fired randomly in hotels or hospitals gets the message across "loudly and clearly".

For people outside of India, Westerners, British Citizens, or American's - it's not so important to understand what motivated this attack - be it a conflict between India and another country or internal groups surfacing as home grown terrorists. What is important is that this can happen anywhere - and not everyone is willing to settle scores in a civilized manner.
