Reading, UK (PRWEB) December 2, 2008
WinScribe, the market leader in digital dictation and workflow solutions, announced today that UK-based Walkden Gateway has deployed WinScribe to its Physiotherapy Department via WinScribe OnDemand - WinScribe's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription platform. Since the implementation, Walkden Gateway has seen immediate efficiency gains resulting from immediate delivery of its audio dictation files to transcriptionists residing in different locations.
Prior to WinScribe, Walkden Gateway was using analog tapes to capture dictation. "The analog tapes and transcribed reports were hand delivered by the secretaries to the physiotherapists. It could take up to 3 weeks for a physiotherapy report to be transcribed and sent to a general practitioner in charge of the patient," explained Victoria Dickens, Consultant Physiotherapists.
The challenge for Walkden Gateway was to find an affordable solution that would allow the group's eight authors and three typists to exchange dictation files and transcribed letters faster. After researching various providers in the marketplace, Dickens contacted WinScribe Partner, ABM who recommended WinScribe OnDemand as an affordable subscription version of WinScribe's award-winning digital dictation and workflow management system.
With no software or servers to buy, install, maintain, or upgrade, the popularity of WinScribe's OnDemand platform grows with organisations that are increasingly asked to do more with less. Under this platform, software and servers are managed by WinScribe. All upgrades to the software and the servers are also performed automatically by WinScribe freeing organizations' internal resources to focus on core business activities.
"The ALB team was very proactive and immediately organised a site visit to explore the WinScribe OnDemand option more thoroughly. We were seduced by the simplicity of the installation and the fact that there is no maintenance at all to be handled by our IT department. The OnDemand Solution appeared to be the best one for us as the initial investment was more affordable allowing us to plan and spread the cost over the years," adds Dickens.
In addition to the elimination of internal support requirements, WinScribe's OnDemand platform offers its subscribers faster implementation and deployment times enabling them to immediately take advantage of the benefits its digital dictation workflow management solution has to offer.
"The software was made available, and we could use it on the same day. Everyone is delighted with the new solution. The secretaries can now share their workload more easily, and this improved team working is showing fantastic results. We have now cut down the turn-around time for physiotherapy reports to 72 hours, and continue to reduce this in accordance with NHS guidelines," concludes Dickens.
