Support Systems Homes, Inc. provides programs that offer hope to men, women and their families suffering from the devastating consequences of chemical dependency. The Support Systems Homes website, http://www.Drug-Rehabilitation.com, helps addicts and others affected by alcohol and drug abuse to get the help that they need. This January 1st, 2009 marks the 18th Anniversary of the Support Systems Homes Network of Treatment Resources.

A nationally accredited facility with state-licensed detoxification, residential treatment, day treatment, and outpatient programs, Support Systems Homes serves individuals who need and desire help overcoming alcohol and drug abuse and addiction. Support Systems Homes Rehab Center has been helping addicts and victims of drug and alcohol abuse for 18 years, providing key substance abuse treatment programs to the public.

With the Holidays already here, Bob Norton, Founder and President of Support Systems Homes reminds the public that drinking and driving is a deadly Holiday recipe for car accidents and crash-related fatalities:

"A misperception that many have is that driving while under a mild influence of alcohol or prescription drugs is somehow not dangerous, when the reality is that critical judgment is impaired when under the influence of strong intoxicating substances," says Norton. "Even a 10% sacrifice in motor skills is enough to dramatically lessen chances of surviving a near-miss with another car due to night holiday driving or the possibility of the other oncoming car being driven under the influence, also."

The answer, says Norton, is insightful planning: "So many adults drink at parties over the holiday season and then leave to go home or even to another party. Holiday drivers have to realize that almost everyone gets back into a car, and that many of those party-goers have not designated another driver for the return trip. We see from the statistical data available that more traffic fatalities occur during the holidays than during any other time, as a result of holiday driving under the influence."

Among the other additional rehabilitation programs and services available are relapse prevention, sober living, life-time aftercare, as well as family therapy and counseling, assessment/evaluation, coordination with physician, therapist, EAP, MCO union or employer. Support Systems Homes even provides legal system advocacy when appropriate and needed by a client. The center advises the public that those afflicted with drug abuse or other addiction issues, such as those associated with gambling, the use of alcohol, heroin, cocaine, meth, crack, hydracodone, vicodin or other substances should inquire about how to get the counseling, detox, rehabilitation, or other services they need as early on as possible. For the good of the individual and his or her family and friends, early detection and treatment of an addictive behavior or a substance abuse problem is the best way of dealing with it effectively.
