North American debut show for the new Tognum power brand: MTU Onsite Energy. Full line of diesel and gas engine generator sets to provide power anywhere, anytime.

MTU Onsite Energy, the new Tognum Group power brand, will make its North American tradeshow debut at Power-Gen International in Orlando, Florida. The show runs from December 2 - 4, 2008.

Located in booth #1442 of the Orange County Convention Center, MTU Onsite Energy's display will include freestanding 500 kW and 1000 kW diesel engine generator sets powered by MTU Series 60 and Series 2000 engines, respectively. In addition, an enclosed 60 kW diesel engine generator set will also be displayed.

This show marks MTU Onsite Energy's first exhibition in North America since the new brand was born in September 2008. The new power brand brings together the power generation expertise of all of the Tognum Group subsidiaries involved in distributed energy systems: MTU Onsite Energy Corporation Diesel Power Systems (formerly: Katolight Corporation) in Mankato, MN; MTU Onsite Energy GmbH Gas Power Systems (formerly: MDE Dezentrale Energysysteme GmbH) in Augsburg/Germany, MTU Onsite Energy GmbH Fuel Cell Systems (formerly: CFC Solutions GmbH) in Ottobrunn/Germany and MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH in Friedrichshafen/Germany. Under the single brand, MTU Onsite Energy provides energy solutions for electricity, heating and cooling anywhere and anytime.

Building on the strength of its sister brand, MTU, and the product portfolio of Katolight and the other Tognum Group distributed power generation subsidiaries, MTU Onsite Energy has been able to hit the ground running. In September, MTU Onsite Energy Corp., the Mankato, MN based regional headquarters of MTU Onsite Energy, received its ISO 14001 environmental certification. That same month, the company's 3250 kW engine generator set was honored by Consulting and Specifying Engineer magazine in its Product of the Year competition for the Power Generation category.

MTU Onsite Energy's customers span the globe. Its products can be found providing reliable, onsite back-up power for applications from hospitals and critical care centers to telecommunications companies to data centers and world-class entertainment destinations.

"The energy sector is one of the main pillars of our growth strategy," said Volker Heuer, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Tognum Group. "In MTU Onsite Energy we have created another strong brand based on the same values as the MTU sister brand: Leadership both in innovative strength and technology, as well as dedicated customer support and commitment by way of tailored system solutions."

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Power-Gen International, the industry's fastest-paced, three-day information exchange designed to share practical experiences, knowledge and ideas on the latest power industry trends and challenges. The event will include over 1,200 companies and is expected to attract over 17,000 industry professionals from 76 countries.
