ISC and Microsoft have announced that MapDotNet will play an important role for government customers that adopt Microsoft® Single View Platform. According to Microsoft, the Single View Platform is “A single, geographic view of complex information and data sets across multiple roles, locations, and user interfaces.” It can “improve agency communication, collaboration, and decision-making to increase the success of essential initiatives.” The Microsoft website goes on to explain that “A solution that puts information in a single geographic context requires:

  •          Comprehensible visual presentation of data.
  •         Access to real-time or near real-time information.
  •         Integration of multiple information sets from disparate sources.
  •         Sharing information inside and outside the agency, with restricted access controls.
  •         Interoperability with existing and legacy systems.”

MapDotNet is a .NET GIS platform that provides extensive support for spatial data visualization and analysis. MapDotNet provides robust Microsoft Virtual Earth™ integration and complete support for SQL Server® 2008 as a spatial data repository. MapDotNet also supports ESRI ArcSDE™, PostGIS, Oracle Spatial™ and shapefiles as spatial data sources.

With MapDotNet and the accompanying SDK, organizations can create interactive mapping applications that provide geospatial visualization and analysis capabilities.

“With Microsoft Single View Platform, government customers can now deploy a fully integrated solution for geospatial analysis and visualization that snaps in to their Microsoft-based information technology environments,” explained Mark Alexander, President of ISC. “Organizations that are using or plan to deploy Microsoft’s products and technologies including Virtual Earth, Windows Server®, Microsoft Dynamics® CRM, SQL Server 2008 and SharePoint® Portal Server will find that they can now create, visualize and analyze spatial data within those familiar environments.”

Economic Development Website Showcases Early Adopter Progress

An early adopter of the Single View Platform commented on the deployment of the Single View Platform: “ISC allowed us to customize the product in order to best serve existing, new and start-up business owners looking to expand facilities, workforce, or products. ISC’s level of service and professionalism is bar none. They have catapulted our EDC into the modern world of economic development and put us at the forefront of competition. “ said Beth Kirkland, Executive Director Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County.

Founded in 1989, ISC is a worldwide leader in software that combines today’s latest advances in web-based, consumer mapping with powerful enterprise GIS (geographic information systems). The company offers a wide range of products and services designed to empower people through great geospatial software.
