'Raven in a Pear Tree' Holiday Party Set for Dec. 8 at Rams Head Live in Baltimore

Event highlights include a special performance by SR-71, the chance to mingle with numerous Ravens players in addition to Flacco and Terry, celebrity appearances by emcees Mickey & Amelia of the Mickey, Amelia & Spiegel Morning Show, and catering by Outback Steakhouse. Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) December 2, 2008 -- Baltimore Ravens Joe Flacco and Adam Terry are showing the true meaning of the holiday season as they co-host a special holiday party on Monday, December 8 at Rams Head Live to benefit Special Olympics Maryland, a non-profit sports program for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Presented by 98 Rock, the event - Raven in a Pear Tree Holiday Party - features a special reunion show by Baltimore band SR-71, and is co-hosted by Ravens starting QB Joe Flacco and Offensive Tackle Adam Terry. Numerous other Ravens players are expected to attend, and to date that guest list also includes Justin Bannan, and Lorenzo Neal.

Raven in a Pear Tree Holiday Party runs from 7 p.m. to Midnight, and VIP tickets are available for $125 each, or 10 for $1,000. Local band Charm City Devils will also be performing.

Mickey and Amelia of the Mickey, Amelia & Spiegel Morning Show on 98 Rock (97.9FM) are serving as the emcees for the evening. Other VIP amenities include complimentary Outback Steakhouse food, and free beer, wine and spirits bar.

In addition to being a holiday celebration, the party is also a kick-off to "Plunge Season" - the two months leading up to the 13th Annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge. Set for January 24, 2009 at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, MD, the Plunge is expected to be the largest one yet with registration currently 40% ahead of where it was at this same time last year.

All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Maryland, and the 10,000 athletes who train and compete at no cost to themselves or their families in nearly 30 sports programs throughout the year.
