L'Auberge Del Mar Seaside Hotel Hosts Party for Signature Restaurant, KITCHEN 1540's Opening

The chic L'Auberge Del Mar seaside hotel in California hosted a party for the grand opening of the new signature restaurant, KITCHEN 1540, serving seasonal menus and fresh cuisine.

Marking the opening of its new signature restaurant in Del Mar, KITCHEN 1540, the all new L'Auberge Del Mar celebrated the launch with a festive party last night. This chic new seaside restaurant, which offers a diverse mix of experiences and an innovative, seasonally-driven menu, welcomed more than 300 guests to an energized sampling of the new cuisine and culinary cocktails.

James Beard Chef Paul McCabe, who has been recognized as one of Southern California's best chefs, and Vice President and Managing Director of Destination Hotels and Resorts Michael J. Slosser hosted the eclectic crowd which represented a veritable 'who's who' of San Diego movers and shakers, including members of the media, the Mayor of Del Mar, Del Mar City Council members and prominent social figures.

Guests were treated to a selection of KITCHEN 1540 delicacies, including a variety of sashimi, an assortment of charcuterie, fresh oysters, sliced buffalo Carpaccio, risotto, scallops and desserts. To compliment the dining options, KITCHEN 1540 also presented party-goers with their signature martinis, as well as a selection of fine wines and champagne with raspberry infused "caviar."

In the new Del Mar, California seaside restaurant, Executive Chef McCabe utilizes the freshest seasonal produce, sustainable seafood and hormone-free meats to create an enticing and exciting menu whether guests are in the mood to sample a number of small plates or simply enjoy an entrée. The seasonally inspired menu at KITCHEN 1540 flows effortlessly from shareable starter plates, to sashimi and seafood tastings, to full entrees and tempting desserts. Diners are also given the opportunity to create their own charcuterie and cheese plates, with a tasteful selection of fine cheeses and cured meats.

KITCHEN 1540 was designed by renowned New York architect Andre Kikoski and offers guests an elegant and contemporary take on a classic coastal restaurant, with white vaulted ceilings, an open presentation kitchen, modern table settings and an outside dining and lounge area. The al fresco experience offers private cabanas for intimate dining, a water wall, a fire pit to gather around and hanging lanterns to set just the right mood.

Located at L'Auberge Del Mar at 1540 Camino Del Mar in Del Mar, California, KITCHEN 1540 opened for dinner on November 4, 2008.
