Ring in the New Year with the City of Pensacola. Downtown Pensacola will host the 2008 countdown December 31st, from 5pm to 1am. Families are invited to a street party with live music, a children's area, and fireworks. Where else can you see a 10-foot, half-ton illuminated pelican dropping 100 feet at midnight. Stay the weekend and celebrate Pensacola's 450th Anniversary by discovering the fascinating history that make up this great City. Visit Civil District, the oldest non-continuous settlement in the US and the stage for much of the town's history.
