The Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) has selected Kristen L. Smith, CAE, as the association's new Executive Director. WOMMA is the official trade association for the word of mouth marketing industry.

According to Ed Keller, immediate past president of WOMMA and chair of the Search Committee, "We are extremely lucky to have found Kristen. She is the consummate association professional and has exactly the type of experience and credentials needed to lead WOMMA at this exciting time in our organization's young life."
Smith was most recently with an association management company where she was an association executive for several professional associations including the American Society of Hand Therapists and the National Board of Accreditation for Orthotic Suppliers. She also served as the Executive Director for the National Society of Genetic Counselors and Special Care Dentistry Association. Smith also served as a consultant, where she worked with a variety of organizations on creating their strategic plan and other organizational needs.
She has a bachelor's degree in political science and English from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. She earned her Certified Association Executive designation in 2004.
