Brightcove Refugees Find Haven At VidZapper
A special package for "Brightcove Refugees" has been launched by VidZapper, the low cost video management system from the team behind Narrowstep and Web Channels.
Brightcove used to offer a free service to customers, bat, as of 17th December will charge around $500 a month for their platform.

Brightcove used to offer a free service to customers, but, as of 17th December it is undrstood that they will charge around $500 a month for their platform.
Available through VidZapper's network of resellers, the alternative package costs $250 for setup and $250 per calendar month, including 1GB of storage and 100GB of video serving for any channel signing up during 2008. Additional storage will be $1 per GB and additional bandwidth $0.40c per GB.
"Since launching we've been inundated with enquiries from channels and service operators who used to use Brightcove's free service," comments Iolo Jones, CEO of TV Everywhere, the company behind VidZapper. "So, we've decided to offer a special one-off deal until the end of the year for any channel migrating from the Brightcove platform that offer a much cheaper option than Brightcove or any other similar services.
"Our reseller can also offer consultancy, player building and content production and management services to enhance this package."
The VidZapper platform provides a comprehensive video management service and enables user generated, professional and third party videos to be combined in a service.
The system also has an established ad supported model where advertising from Google, DART, Atlas and Advertising.com can very easily be integrated into the service. Ads are rotated every 30secs, providing an enhanced revenue stream for channel operators.
