The Scotch Malt Whisky Society helps to take the load off during the festive season with this year's Christmas Parcels - a tantalising selection of single cask malt gift ideas for family, friends and even a well-deserved dram for yourself! Each Christmas Parcel is expertly chosen by the wise men, and women, of the Society.
The shining star of the show is the very special 41 year old Cask 1.141 'One to cherish and love' the oldest whisky that the Society has bottled to date. Maturing in a hogshead cask since December 1966, this exceptional single malt attracted the attention of the Society's Tasting Panel with it's 'well-integrated notes of lavender, cloves, bitter orange and floor polish on the nose… coconut sweetness and dark walnut cask in the taste with a lingering fruity finish'.
There are only 157 bottles available of this mellow warming gentle giant, so whisky lovers will have to be quick off the mark when the bottles go on sale in the Society online whisky shop on Fri 7 Nov.
This year's Christmas Parcels also features specially selected malt masterpieces of two or three bottles in an assortment of Society themes to suit every palate and pocket. Each single cask, single malt is imaginatively named based on its unique aroma and taste.
For those wishing to treat loved ones to a year's worth of malt whisky indulgence, Society membership and the popular Whisky for a Year deal combine to make the perfect gift.
