(PRWEB) December 7, 2008 -- Along with the dreary winter weather, there seems to be a never-ending supply of bad news filling our screens and papers at present. Mountain Kingdoms offer a selection of 23 brand new trekking holidays for 2009, ideal for escaping the economic doom and wintery gloom, in the splendid isolation of some of the world's most beautiful spots. With a long dark winter ahead, and a continuous diet of depressing news, many will be keen to escape from the relentless doom and gloom. For those people, Mountain Kingdoms have the perfect antidote with 23 brand new trekking holidays for 2009. What could be better than being hundreds of miles away from television and the internet, taking in some of the most wonderful sights in the world?

Mountain Kingdoms, formerly known as Himalayan Kingdoms, are passionate about trekking holidays and cultural tours and have been consistently adding to their portfolio since being founded in 1987. Indeed the increased variety was the reason for their new name. With new adventure holidays to the likes of Mexico, Morocco and Egypt, the company wanted to change the misconception that it only travelled to the Himalayas.

Jude Limburn Turner, the Marketing Manager of Mountain Kingdoms, believes that the new range of adventure holidays will tempt more customers looking to literally get away from it all. "There are so many truly amazing places in the world that need to be seen to be believed that it's great that we can share them with a wider audience. Hopefully people will see the fantastic new range of cultural tours and adventure holidays we're offering next year and decide that there's never been a better time to leave the pressures of everyday life and take in some fascinating culture and breathtaking views."

The company has 23 brand new trekking holidays for 2009 designed to appeal to every taste. Amongst the most intriguing sounding are the 'Berber Trails to Mount Toubkal' (an adventure holiday traversing some of Morocco's less travelled trails, culminating in North Africa's highest peak), the 'Everest Trails to Ama Dablam' (a winding trek through sherpa villages all the way to the region's most beautiful mountain) and 'Tanzania - a Walk in the Wild', which allows adventure holiday enthusiasts the chance to get closer than ever to Africa's amazing wildlife. Perhaps the pick of the bunch though is the brand new 'Family Trek through Peru' which allows children as young as eight to trek through exotic Amazon jungle, raft up rivers and take in some of the fabled Inca ruins including Machu Picchu.

In the current climate many of us would love to get away from it all and Mountain Kingdoms take this desire very seriously - why head to a crowded resort when you can take an adventure holiday or cultural tour with a group of like minded people? "I really think part of the appeal of our trekking holidays is the distance you can get from the events of the world," concluded Ms Turner, "and, with just a guide and a small group of others, the world's problems feel a million miles away."
