The kids have left the nest, they're comfortable financially, they're now looking for an outlet to express themselves. Riding a motorcycle provides the empowerment and freedom they've been craving all their lives. WomenRidersNow.com's video test rides fill the information void for all these women hopping in the saddle of their own motorcycle.

WomenRidersNow.com, the leading online magazine about women and motorcycling, now features motorcycle reviews by women in a web video format. Nowhere else online can you watch a qualified female journalist test riding a motorcycle.
"Video is fast becoming the premiere online tool for providing information online," says Genevieve Schmitt, founder and editor of WomenRidersNow.com. "Our readers tell us that watching a motorcycle review in a video format is something they prefer."
More women are riding a motorcycle than ever before, according to preliminary data just released from the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC). Through the first three quarters of 2008 the MIC's recent ownership survey was finding a 29 percent increase in the percentage of female owners, compared to 2003. That last survey found that 9.6 percent of owners were women. Over the first nine months of 2008, the number had grown to 12.4 percent.
Schmitt attributes this growth to womens' earning power and wealth that has skyrocketed over recent years leading many to choose motorycling as their form of recreation and therapy. "The majority of our readers are 41 to 50 years old," says Schmitt. "The kids have left the nest, they're comfortable financially, they're now looking for an outlet to express themselves. Riding a motorcycle provides the empowerment and freedom they've been craving all their lives. WomenRidersNow.com's video test rides fill the information void for all these women hopping in the saddle of their own motorcycle."
The video segments are called "In The Saddle with Genevieve Schmitt," as Schmitt is one of the leading journalists in the motorcycle industry. The latest review has Schmitt and popular WRN contributor Betsy Huelskamp test riding Hyosung Motorcycles' 250 GV and 650 GV budget priced beginner bikes. Huelskamp is best known for her Mt. Everest summit attempt as part of the team on last year's Discovery Channel's "Everest: Beyond the Limit." Schmitt also reviews Star Motorcycles' V Star 1300 and the Victory Motorcycles' Kingpin Deluxe. "So much of a woman's comfort level on a motorcycle is about fit. Our video test rides allow visitors to WRN to actually see how I fit on a bike and watch how I handle it on the highway and in parking lots," says Schmitt. "A video helps viewers get a sense of a motorcycle's ergonomics and power better than an article and a still photograph. Our videos help potential buyers choose more wisely."
Schmitt is an Emmy-nominated news magazine producer having worked for Good Morning America, Extra, and E! News Daily. She also worked as a reporter on Speed Channel's "Bike Week" covering motorcycling events all over the country. She brings that same high quality network television production value to WRN's motorcycle videos.
Launched in February 2006, WomenRidersNow.com is the leading source of motorcycling news and reviews focused on women. To see WRN's Motorcycle Videos, visit
