The 24th annual Christmas Price Index rose 8.1 percent in 2008. Drivers for the Christmas Price Index increase included the price of the Seven Swans-a-Swimming; concerns about shipping and energy costs, which resulted in an increase for the Partridge in a Pear Tree; and another increase in the minimum wage, which provided a second consecutive raise for the Maids-a-Milking. The full press release and results can also be found on the Christmas Price Index Web site.
