Dating Author Launches New Blog as Book Approaches its Five Year Anniversary
Suzanne Hansen's book, "Charles' Guide to 101 Romantic Fun Dates for Under $20," is a popular dating guide which still remains relevant, particularly in this economic climate. Hansen's long-running website, 101RomanticDatesUnderTwentyDollers.com, is expanding to include a new blog.
Myrtle Creek, OR (PRWEB) December 7, 2008 -- In 2003, Suzanne Hansen wrote a second edition of a book that helped one of her sons come up with ideas for dates that wouldn't "break the bank." Hansen's "Charles' Guide to 101 Romantic Fun Dates for Under $20" has since garnered a number of positive reviews and built a corresponding website, www.101RomanticDatesUnderTwentyDollers.com, with several dating tips.
"When I started writing the book, I ran a contest for 101 date ideas before the internet had really taken off," said Hansen. "When I started the site, I wanted to have a way to reach more people and that lead the reprinting of the book."
While the website is chiefly centered on the book, Hansen has thought about diversifying her site to include candles, incense and etc., which would also keep in the theme of romance. In addition to expanding the website, Hansen has also recently launched a new blog, www.101RomanticCheapDates.com.
"The blog is a natural extension of the 'Charles' Guide,'" she said. "There will be new ideas for dates and recipes, which is a take off of 'Decadent Desserts,' a section in the book."
Though the second edition of the book is nearing its five year anniversary, Hansen hopes that the website will introduce new ideas on dating in this economy, though she's quick to point out that the book itself still works:
"I have recently evaluated the dates in the book and many of them are still feasible for under $20, several have been broken down to classification, seasons, and regions. Not to mention an entire recipe section that has more than two dozen fun food ideas for personable dates.
"'Charles' Guide to 101 Dates for Under $20' isn't just for first dates, it's good for married and long established couples who may need a bit of spark back in the romance," Hansen continued. "Both the book and the website are great for all romantics alike."
