Greenbranch Publishing announced today that effective January 2009, The Journal of Medical Practice Management® (JMPM) will become the official journal of PAHCOM (Professional Association of Health Care Office Management). In addition to the current benefits of membership, every PAHCOM member will receive the bi-monthly journal as part of their membership dues.

The Journal of Medical Practice Management® is one of the most widely recognized, authoritative voices in the industry. For 24 years the journal has offered "how-to" advice for delivering high quality care, increasing patients' satisfaction, and improving medical practices' profitability. With an emphasis on working smarter and more efficiently, each 70-page issue features a host of proven strategies for dealing with fiscal management, marketing, information technology, benefits and compensation, legal and tax issues, office operations, coding, and human resources that practice administrators, practice managers and physicians face on a daily basis.

The journal has been published since 1984, originally by Williams & Wilkins, and was acquired by Greenbranch Publishing® in 1998 with the mission to bring timely, credible and valuable information to physicians and healthcare executives. The Journal of Medical Practice Management®, indexed in MEDLINE, and supported by thousands of subscribers, has a track record of providing the information that physicians and administrators need to help their practices thrive.

"This exciting development takes our organization one giant step closer to the professional recognition that is our goal," says 2008 National Advisory Board Chair Teri Arseneau, CMM. "The National Advisory Board is delighted to make this announcement as we begin a new year and a new era for PAHCOM."

Nancy Collins, Publisher of The Journal of Medical Practice Management® and President of Greenbranch Publishing, says, "We are honored that PAHCOM has chosen JMPM to help practice managers continue their education and reach the goal of excellence in office management. Along with PAHCOM, Greenbranch Publishing has been a strong voice in promoting the professionalism of the medical practice manager. We know that medicine is a big business and a well-trained, dedicated office manager is key to a practice's success."

According to 2009 National Advisory Board Chair Gail Eminhizer, CMM, "This is an excellent opportunity to make sure your employer and all of your colleagues understand the value of belonging to PAHCOM.    Never before has the benefit of belonging to PAHCOM been greater, and every physician in the country should support the practice manager's membership in PAHCOM--and should read the journal too!"

PAHCOM is a national organization dedicated to promoting professionalism in physician office practice by providing professional development opportunities, continuing education in health care office management principles and practice, and certification for health care office managers. PAHCOM's purpose is the continuous pursuit of excellence in the management of physician office practices. Its strength and foundation is the professionalism and dedication of its members.
