Mod Sheet has expanded its services to the fashion industry. Two new websites have been developed and launched specifically for the promotion of male and female models as well as photographers.
Both models and photographers can set up free online portfolios containing their stats, photos, and more. They may also network through a variety of MySpace-like features including photo comments, private messaging system, and web forums.
The two sites that have already launched are specialized to target different search engine keywords. The first site, http://www.malemod.com , is designed exclusively for Male Models and Photographers. It does not list or make searchable female model portfolios.
The second site, http://www.modsheet.com, shares the same male model and photographer database but makes available the suite of services to Female Models as well.
Both sites are showing extreme potential and Mod Sheet's President and founder, Britton Keene, fully expects the sites to overtake popular competitors within one calendar year.
He had this to say:
"The means were complex but the idea is simple: create a community of models and photographers and allow them to find one another by location, contact one another for projects, and showcase their work online.
Most sites confuse issues by suggesting that agencies handle every facet in the modeling industry. Those sites are selling false ideas and worse: false hope. Agents sign models to contracts and before they do that, models generally have some experience under their belt. How do they get it? Most catalogue, magazine, calendar, and other print and digital modeling jobs come directly from the photographer. It is the photographer who scouts the model, takes the pictures, pays the model, and sells the pictures. Our sites help them do it.
In the first few months alone, the sites have experienced unparalleled growth. Our models are looked at by the foremost modeling photographers in the industry such as Brad Posey, Cameron Frost, and Sean Bentz. The site is also already dominating many of the major search engines."

Lavation.Com will launch two additional sites in July expanding its reach in the modeling industry online:
ModMap, http://www.modmap.com , will allow models to place beacons on dynamic Google Maps so that other models, photographers, and agents can enter a zip code and physically see where models are in relation to them. The beacons will display a thumbnail image of the model as well as a link to his or her portfolio when moused-over.
ModelMiracle, http://www.modelmiracle.com , will be a testimonial and forum site where models can share their experiences in the industry and advise those interested in becoming models.
The two new sites will be separate of the ModSheet and MaleMod database but will serve to promote the original- online portfolio community- websites.
