Michael N. Gooen, Partner at the law firm Lowenstein Sandler and Co-Chair of its Trust and Estates Group, has been selected for inclusion in Worth magazine's 2008 list of "Top 100 Attorneys." The list, now in its fourth year, recognizes the nation's leading attorneys specializing in trust and estates, philanthropy, elder care, matrimonial and other private practice areas, as determined by nominations and evaluation by the Worth magazine editorial staff.

Mr. Gooen's Trusts and Estates practice focuses on income and transfer tax planning. Advising clients that include fund managers, entrepreneurs, executives and families with inherited wealth, Mr. Gooen designs and implements estate plan instruments; develops wills, revocable "living" trusts and irrevocable life insurance trusts; and counsels on gifting vehicles, as well as personal and business arrangements integral to family asset planning. He is also a member of Lowenstein Sandler's Business Tax Counseling & Structuring group, where his practice encompasses the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, private financings, investment partnerships, and joint ventures.

A resident of Randolph, NJ, Mr. Gooen earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School and his B.A. from Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to his Worth magazine honor, Mr. Gooen has earned recognition from New Jersey Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America (2009).
