Constance Sorrell and Michael Huerta to Serve as Co-Chairs of ITS America's 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition

The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) has selected Constance Sorrell and Michael Huerta to serve as co-chairs of ITS America's 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition, set for June 1-3 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 11, 2008 -- The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) has selected Constance Sorrell and Michael Huerta to serve as co-chairs of ITS America's 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition, set for June 1-3 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

Sorrell is the chief of systems operations for the Virginia Department of Transportation.
She is responsible for creating new focus on operating the highway system and for improving travel throughout Virginia as well as managing a $1 billion maintenance and operations budget. Sorrell is also a member of ITS America's Board of Directors.

Huerta is the executive vice president and group president of ACS Transportation Solutions. The Transportation Solutions Group helps government agencies in more than 30 countries address their challenges through revenue collection and regulation compliance services. Huerta also serves as the vice chairman of ITS America's Board of Directors.

Others serving on the 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition Organizing Committee include: Neal Pederson, Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration; Gerry Conover, PRC Associates; Lance Newman, Cambridge Systematics; Ken Earnest, Virginia Department of Transportation; Michael Freitas, Ygomi LLC; John Peracchio, Peracchio & Company LLC; Ken Philmus, AECOM; Peter Sweatman, University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute; and Sheryl Wilkerson, Ygomi LLC.

The Annual Meeting and Exposition will take place from June 1-3, 2009 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center along the banks of the Potomac River, less than eight miles south of the nation's capital, in National Harbor, Maryland.
