Privasoft, the world’s leading provider of collaborative case management software for managing freedom of information (FOI), access to information (ATI) and privacy legislation compliance, has appointed Shafique Shamji as its new president, effective immediately.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, Shamji will be responsible for the company’s overall strategic direction and management. His mandate is to grow the company’s leadership position in expanded markets and key geographies including the Unites States and United Kingdom. In Canada, most requests for information under the ATIP Act are processed with Privasoft technology. Requirements for collaborative case management solutions for legislative and regulatory compliance are developing in jurisdictions all over the world.
“More and more organizations are relying on business automation solutions for managing case work to dramatically improve case resolution time with proper tracking metrics and timely reporting,” says Shamji. “Privasoft is uniquely positioned to deliver solutions for document-based workflows, a fundamental shift for many paper-based organizations, which is proving beneficial for customers in the public sector, insurance, health care, legal and/law enforcement industries.”
Shamji’s immediate focus is to develop and implement the company’s strategic business plan and to identify key opportunities for business growth in the public sector and new markets. He will also focus on establishing key strategic relationships and alliances to support the company’s business development initiatives.
With more than 20 years experience in information technology, Shamji has held several senior executive positions, each with increasing responsibility. He was most recently President of SS TeleConsulting where he provided Business Management Consulting for both large and small technology organizations and prior to that he was President of Time iCR, a software development and hosting company for Speech Recognition and Advance Call Processing applications. Time iCR was eventually sold to Rogers where Shamji served as the Vice President of Professional Services throughout the transition. Shamji also brings significant US experience from his tenor as Vice President of network services for Fidelity National Information Solutions (FNIS) in Santa Ana, California, which grew from a $40M software and IT Company to a $125M Professional Services company, as well as Chief Operating Officer and CIO of Telehub Network Services, one of the first developers of a carrier-grade software switch in Chicago, IL.
Shamji earned his Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and achieved his P. Eng designation in 1991.
According to recent research by IDC, “Collaborative Case Management will increasingly represent the ‘currency’ by which interaction, communication, and decisions are rendered, thus impacting on the ability to deliver better services to the citizen.” By automating business processes with compliance obligations, case workers can reduce paper handling and deliver faster, more reliable responses.
For nearly 20 years, Privasoft has been delivering software and services to automate case management in public sector and regulated industries. Privasoft customers must comply with legislative, regulatory and internal requirements and are represented in health care, law enforcement and all levels of government.
