The Beechwood Organization Sponsors 2nd Annual Toy Drive at Meadowbrook Pointe Residents Pitch in for Toys for Tots
The 2nd Annual Holiday toy drive, Toys for Tots will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 1pm to 3pm at Nassau County's Award Winning Active Adult Community, Meadowbrook Pointe. The Meadowbrook Pointe Community, developed by the Beechwood Organization, along with the United States Marine Corp will work together to help make children happy during the holidays by collecting toys and money at the event. These entities were very successful in last years campaign and expect even more this year.
Jericho, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2008 -- The 2nd Annual Holiday toy drive, Toys for Tots will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 1pm to 3pm at Nassau County's Award Winning Active Adult Community, Meadowbrook Pointe. The Meadowbrook Pointe Community, developed by the Beechwood Organization, along with the United States Marine Corp will work together to help make children happy during the holidays by collecting toys and money at the event. These entities were very successful in last years campaign and expect even more this year.
Michael Dubb, President of the Beechwood Organization is very excited to host the Toys for Tots event at Meadowbrook Pointe again this year. "Last year was a big success and this year will be even better. The Meadowbrook Pointe Community is very generous," says Mr. Dubb.
At the event, the Meadowbrook Homeowners Association will be presenting a check for $2,705 to the Interfaith Nutrition Network, the proceeds from their November "Taste of the Good Life" fundraising event that featured food tasting by local restaurants including Ben's Deli, Max's Appetizing of Woodmere, California Pizza Kitchen, Garden Gourmet, Mama Felicia's, Mario's Pizza and Galleria. Other local restaurants included Polo Lounge, Pier 441, La Nonna Bella, Tesoro Ristorante, and Fortune Chinese Restaurant. Wine was provided by Martin Scott Wines and dessert from Dove Chocolates.
In 2007, Toys for Tots delivered more than 16.7 million toys to more than 7.5 million needy children. The 2007 Toys for Tots campaign was one of the best campaigns in the history of the program. The group estimates that there are more than 13 million children living in poverty in the United States who are in need of toys during the holidays. All toys and money raised at the event will be donated to disadvantage children in the Long Island community.
