e-Builder and FMI to Host Webinar on Understanding and Mitigating Risks Associated with Executing a Large Capital Construction Program

Study findings outline risk management strategies used by companies managing large capital programs.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) December 17, 2008 -- e-Builder today announced it will co-host a 1-hour webinar on January 22, 2009 with FMI Corporation, management consultants and investment bankers for the construction industry. The webinar, titled "Beyond the Bell Curve: A Report on Managing Capital Project Risk", will focus on how a two pronged approach to risk management is necessary to mitigate the complexity and challenge faced by owners in their overall capital construction program. This session is part of e-Builder's monthly Executive Webinar series. To register, please visit: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/965165044.

Recent economic shifts are creating greater interest in building a more effective risk management system for large and small owners as well as the contractors and designers that serve them. The risk management insights that will be presented are based upon FMI's 55 years of industry experience, the results of this year's FMI/CMAA Ninth Annual Survey of Owners and e-Builder's work with owner/operators as a provider of capital program management software.

The techniques that will be discussed can be applied to support more effective risk management by all industry participants, not just one group. FMI has designed a risk management service built around this approach that is specifically designed to mitigate the complexity and challenge faced by owners, designers and contractors in executing a large capital construction program.

Jonathan Antevy, e-Builder CEO, said, "We're finding more and more that current economic conditions are driving facility owner/operators to explore how technology like e-Builder can enable strategies that will lead to improved and measurable risk management practices."
