In April of this year, Sanderson Mcleod, sandersonmcleod, hired Allen Smith into Purfresh, http://www.purfresh.com, as the General Manager for its pre-harvest business unit. Mr. Smith was formerly a Director with Monsanto and Vice President of BASF's Asia-Pacific agricultural division. With this strategic hire, Sanderson McLeod firmly establishes it's presence in the Clean Technology Industry.

With 22 years of experience in the agribusiness industry, Mr. Smith will lead sales and business development activities for Purfresh's pre-harvest products. At Monsanto, Mr. Smith led business operations for the company's Asia-Pacific and Europe-Africa divisions. Prior to Monsanto, he spent 15 years at Cyanamid's agricultural division, in senior positions including vice president of Asia-Pacific, Canada and specialty products; and general manager of the company's Canadian division. When Cyanamid was acquired by BASF, Mr. Smith helped manage the transition and stayed on with the company for a year. Mr. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a master's degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee.
Sanderson McLeod had earlier helped Purfresh land Dave Bouchard as GM of Sales and Field Operations as well as Chris Deblasio, Director of Sales for the container division. "When you look at the clean technology sector there has been a huge amount of money already invested in alternative energy. The research community and policy makers are starting to see the challenges that some of these alternative energy programs; like corn based ethanol, have put on our water and food supply. We believe that many of these issues will be solved by companies like Purfresh," states Paul Sanderson, President and CEO of Sanderson McLeod.
Other work in the Clean Technology Sector has been for Finavera, with the hiring of the company's CTO for the Wave Energy division, and the VP of World Wide Sales for Silver Spring Technologies.
