Need A Tech Makeover?

It was an absolute blast to see the look in the eyes of the contest winners

"It was an absolute blast to see the look in the eyes of the contest winners," said Dave Altavilla, Editor-in-Chief of HotHardware. "I can't thank Intel enough for making this all possible. We were able to make a significant impact on the lives of three wonderful groups of people. And I have to say, it was nice to get out from behind the desk to get out there and meet the readers. It was such a fitting and uplifting contest for the holiday season."

The tech makeovers were performed personally by Dave Altavilla and Marco Chiappetta, the tech experts from HotHardware. Prizes include notebooks based on Intel® Centrino® 2 mobile technology, Intel® Coreā„¢2 workstations, peripherals including Wi-Fi routers, Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, HP and Epson all-in-one printers, cameras, and other accessories, all configured and installed to overhaul each lucky winner's technology base with leading-edge products and ultimate connectivity.

To enter the contest, HotHardware.com and Need a Tech Makeover readers made their case for why they felt they were most in need of one of the three available makeovers. The community then voted for the contestants they felt were most worthy. A panel of judges then selected the winners based on community votes and feedback.

"The 'Need a Tech Makeover' program is one that really makes me proud," said Jason Ratner, director of sales at Federated Media Publishing. "Thanks to Intel, HotHardware was able to provide a wonderful experience for three worthy award winners. I'm glad we had a chance to be involved in this. I love it when brands partner with great destinations like HotHardware.com to create innovative Web media executions like Need a Tech Makeover. It's incredible validation for the work we're all doing together."
