10,000 college students and staff from more than 1000 campuses will rendezvous in ten cities across America to be part of a Campus Crusade for Christ sponsored Christmas/Winter Conference. For more than 40 years, Campus Crusade has been hosting conferences helping college students make the most of their Christmas break.
"Winter Conferences offer students the chance to get away from their normal routine where they will be inspired and challenged to join in a cause that is greater than them," says Mark Gauthier, National Director of Campus Crusade.
Conference schedules revolve around live music and multi-media filled general sessions that mix rock-concert energy with some of the most popular communicators helping students integrate their faith into campus life. Each conference breaks out into smaller seminars addressing hot topics ranging from sex and relationships to humanitarian issues. Students also meet in small discussion group where they can process what they learn and plan how to apply back on campus.
The 2008-09 Christmas/Winter Conferences will be held in Portland OR, San Diego, Denver, Minneapolis, Dallas, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Greensboro, NC, Boston and Washington, DC. Specific information on each conference may be found at http://www.CampusCrusadeforChrist.com.
A student favorite at each conference is a day set aside for students to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those less fortunate. In six cities, students will put their faith into action as they deliver more than $150,000 worth of food in "Holiday Care Boxes" to 6000 needy families sharing a gift of food and faith. The Holiday Care Box outreach is part of a national partnership between the U.S. Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade, Here's Life Inner City and The Children's Hunger Fund along with local churches and ministries in each host city.
More than 55,000 students are active in Campus Crusade for Christ on 1100 campuses across America. Founded in 1951, Campus Crusade's mission is to show students how to know and experience God's love through a personal relationship with Jesus.
