Consejo's Principal, Shawn Shell, and his resourceful team, Manny Vega and Celina Baginski worked closely with Steppenwolf's General Manager, David Schmitz, to analyze their requirements and create their communications wish list. At first, the desires of the organization were simple; to design an intranet that would provide basic services. However, when they began to drill down, Steppenwolf's needs expanded. Consejo, Inc. was given the challenge to replace an aging intranet tool with an effortless communication system that engaged everyone. They wanted a system that did more than just provide forms and announcements. They wanted a site that spirited interaction with a sense of family that linked their business staff, creative teams and all extended workers. As a non-profit company, their budget was diminutive and deliverable time became an important factor.
To expedite the project, Consejo, Inc. partnered with i.c. stars, a non-profit organization based in Chicago that offers future leaders the opportunity to develop skills in business and technology. Together they worked to deliver Consejo's Fast Track to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (http://www.consejoinc.com/solutions/SharePoint_FastTrack.aspx). Consejo, Inc. donated the majority of their small stipend to engage two (2) i.c. stars alumni; Adonis Latham and Genesys Reeves to act as technical lead and business analyst. Consejo, inc. managed the overall project and provided mentorship to both the Steppenwolf staff and the i.c. stars team. To keep cost contained, Consejo, Inc. also coordinated and solicited other industry professionals to donate their time to enhance the end deliverables. Working in tandem, they completed the project in about six (6) weeks. The new intranet system was launched and has received rave reviews by all. Another award winning performance… Bravo to Consejo, Inc.!
