InventHelp®, America's leading inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Houston, Texas, has designed a novelty device that would play various sound effects often heard during stand-up comedy routines. This invention is patented.
The "Rim Shot" would enable users to play a "rim shot" sound to punctuate a joke, or activate a "drum roll" when someone enters a room. The use of this novelty item could add humor to a variety of situations. The device's portable, pocket-sized design would make it easy to carry. According to the inventor, the Rim Shot would stimulate conversation, and could make an amusing gag gift for someone.
The Rim Shot would consist of a battery-operated device containing a sound chip, speaker ports and buttons labeled "DR" and "RS." To play, an individual would press the buttons to play either a "drum roll" or "rim shot" accompanied by recorded laughter. The device could be produced in different shapes and colors, and could be designed for attachment to a key ring. Another variation would be designed with a connected chain and loop to be used as its own key chain.
The inventor came up with the idea through his experience as a joke teller. "I always wanted a drummer nearby to enhance the joke or pun," he said. "With my invention, a user will always get a laugh with a joke whether anyone else likes it or not."
InventHelp® is attempting to submit the invention to companies for review. If substantial interest is expressed, the company will attempt to negotiate for a sale or royalties for the inventor.
