MyCity Alerts gives businesses the opportunity to target potential customers by sending free coupons, discounts or messages to a user's cell phone.

411web, an online leader in marketing and advertising, has announced the launch of MyCity Alerts on MyCity.com. MyCity Alerts allows businesses the opportunity to target potential customers who are located within a five mile radius of their business. Business owners can send free coupons, discounts, special invitations or even a secret sale to a user's cell phone.

"With the economy in the state that it is, I am excited to be able to provide business owners with an opportunity to market their establishments for free. MyCity.com supports restaurants, bars, and other small businesses- and this is our way of giving back to those industries that have been affected by the struggling economy," said Bob Friedenthal, president and CEO of 411web.

Currently MyCity.com has over 90,000 registered members. MyCity Alerts allows these members to receive text messages on their phone from businesses looking to earn their business. Users have the ability to set the frequency of incoming messages, turn on/off the Alerts, as well as select coupons based upon their interest.

"If our members only want to receive coupons from restaurants, or are looking for coupons for an oil change; they will not receive any other type of offer. Additionally our patent pending technology reads the users GPS settings and only sends them messages when they are in close proximity to the business," said Bob Friedenthal, president and CEO of 411web.

MyCity Alerts (beta version) is currently available on the Blackberry, Pocket PC, Smart Telephones and the iPhone. MyCity Alerts will have a significant impact on local businesses, as they will be able to target users who want to receive their offers for free.
