Through the distribution of missing children photos and Child ID Kits as well as seasonal safety tips, Check 'n Go, a leader in payday loan lending, continues to expand its support for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and its mission to keep children safer.

According to the U. S. Department of Justice, 797,500 children were reported missing during a one-year period of time studied, translating to an average of more than 2,100 missing children per day, one child every 41 seconds.

Since 1984, NCMEC has worked with law enforcement on more than 148,160 missing child cases, resulting in the recovery of more than 132,300 children and NCMEC's toll-free national Hotline 1-800-THE-LOST® (1-800-843-5678) has handled more than 2.3 million calls.

Check 'n Go is NCMEC National Photo Partner, redistributing pictures of missing children in more than 1,300 payday loan retail locations throughout the country. Images are divided across stores in 13 regions established by Check 'n Go and NCMEC. Four or more color photos of a missing child from the geographic region are posted in each store and updated bi-monthly. Cumulatively, Check 'n Go features at least 600 photos of missing children each year.

To assist NCMEC in educating parents, Check 'n Go distributes Safety Checks for Children Tip Cards throughout the year. The cards include year-round and holiday-specific tips on how to keep children safer, and what to watch out for.

In an emergency, law enforcement officials need vital information about the missing child as quick as possible. To help parents be prepared, Check 'n Go retail personnel coordinate the distribution of Safe 'n Secure Child ID Kits by coordinating community safety events, or partaking in an established event within their neighborhoods. These events allow Check 'n Go to expand upon our commitment to child safety where our associates live and work.
